Spring Flowers

Here is another simple card I made. I used my Cricut again and paper scraps to make it.  The cartiridge I used is Freshly Picked.  It is such a cute cartridge with so many fun spring and garden images.

After I cut out all the pieces with the Cricut I used my Distress Inks and mini ink blending tool to make everything look more realistic.  I used foam dots to pop the flowers up and give everything some more dimension.

Supplies:
Cricut Expression, Freshly Picked cartridge, card stock scraps, Tim Holtz Distress Inks, Mini Ink Blending Tool, Foam Dots, ATG tape

St. Patrick's Day - Card #2

I made 3 of these adorable cards for St. Patrick's Day today.  I used my Cricut to cut out the cute leprechaun!  The cartridge I used is Simply Charmed and I cut out the Leprechaun at 4 inches.

I used a variety of solid colored cardstock (what I would call layering weight - that I had in my stash-it is cardstock from Michael's, Joann's, etc.) and his suit is using paper from the K&Company Sweet Nectar Specialty Paper 6x6 paper pad.

I cut out all the pieces for the leprechaun and put him together and then decided I wanted to inlay him into the background.  I layered several of the white background pieces on top of eachother to add dimension.  I ran the top background layer through my Big Shot using a Cuttlebug embossing folder.

I put some gold paper behind the white to give him a cute and bright shadow!  I then mounted the entire panel onto a card base made out of Papertrey Ink cardstock in Vintage Jadeite.  I love Papertrey Ink and their carstock is divine!  But, had I used PTI carstock for all of the layering my card would have been super heavy - so using a lighter weight cardstock for everything else worked out perfectly!

I stamped a sentiment only on the inside of the card from the Hero Arts Stamp Set.  I love these cards and I hope the recipients do as well.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!

St. Patrick's Day - Card #1

This card was so quick and easy to make.  I used glitter stickers I bought years ago out of the dollar bin at Joann's.  They may still make them!  If not, you could always die cut shamrocks out of different shades of green glitter paper in two different sizes to get the same look.  I used an American Crafts green note card to put the panel on and finished if off with some green grosgrain ribbon I had in my stash.  It is a very simple card design but packs a lot of punch.  This would be a great card to make with kids too!

This card is the normal A2 size.  Hope you enjoy!  Come back soon to seen another St. Patrick's Day card.

Supplies:
white cardstock, shamrock stickers, American Crafts green notecard, green ribbon, ATG tape, glue dots
